With a non-random key, it is possible to use the relative frequencies of letters in the encoded message to make informed guesses at the corresponding letters in the original. This is particularly so for longer encoded messages.

Once some of the letters and their coded counterparts are found, and the key is non-random, the whole key can be deduced. Coded message can then be decrypted easily.

The key in a one-time pad must be random because it needs to provide perfect secrecy. If the key is not random, it could lead to patterns or correlations between the key and the plaintext, allowing for potential decryption. Randomness ensures that each bit of the key is unpredictable and independent, making it impossible for an attacker to deduce any information about the plaintext.

What pseudo-random block stream is generated by 64-bit OFB with a weak DES key?

With (OFB) output feed back, a random 64-bit number, known as the IV is encrypted with the weak secret key to create the one-time pad. A weak DES secret key is one which is either all 1's, 0's or alternating ones and zeros. The plain text is XOred with as many bits of the generated one-time pad. If a weak key patterns will emerge in the ciphertext. - Eric Appelboom

What are two problems with the one-time pad?

The two problems are; 1. The One time pad needs to be truly random. Pseudo random generators are quick however they can be predicted. The second is practicability of being able to transmit the number of keys securely to the receiver. For every bit of plain text, there is also 1bit of key.

What is a 'one time pad'?

A one-time pad is an encryption/deencryption method where a random series of cipher codes is used one time, and one time only, in a communication. Assuming that only the two parties possess their pairs of pads, then the encryption is unbreakable.

What is the grow school order?

School, School bus, playground, then students. Patience is the main key, you must wait for all of the objects to level up one by one.

What is the mathematical definition of random?

There are a number of definitions. In mathematics, it depends on the context that the word is used. One definition is for a "random event" where all outcomes are equally likely to occur. A random selection of lottery numbers means that in the long run, no one number is likely to occur more than another one. Random events are typically considered independent random events, in that one event can not affect the outcome of another one. A "random variable" means that the probability of any value occurring corresponds to a given probability distribution function. There is a common use of random, which means to act without a plan. What one time pad does if used correctly?

If used properly, the one-time pad is an unbreakable encryption system. To implement it, two parties agree on an invertible transformation on messages and a random key (such as a random number or sequence of numbers). The random key is then used to encrypt and decrypt the message, and if it is only used once, will leave no meaningful pattern in the ciphertext. Thus malicious third parties that intercept the ciphertext will be unable to derive the original message from it. The random key is the one-time pad because it can be used only once.

How do you reset a 2004 Mercedes SL500 key fob?

You can not reset this key. You must go to the dealer. It is hardcoded and can only be set one time. A new key must be ordered. There are no resets.

Where do you find the yellow key in dungeoneering on Runescape?

The keys appear at random places. You may find the key in one room, but next time you go into a dungeon, it may be somewhere else. Just look around everywhere. Oh, and you must distinguish keys not only by color, but also by shape - so that would not just be "the yellow key", but "the yellow square key", "the yellow circle key", etc.

How do you get to the petpet laboratory on Neopets?

Find all the pieces of the pepet lab. map. This can be random OR, you can get a random one in key quest.

Ignition key will not come out on 1994 Toyota Camry.?

My 92 has a safety feature where you have to turn the key to the off position, and then you must push the key in and turn one more time in order to release the key.

Is the variable is discrete or continuous the number of keys on each student's key chain?

A random variable such as the number of keys on each student's key chain is discrete because you can list the possible values it can assume. If it was continuous one would not be list a continuous random variable because it would be impossible. The keys on the key chains would be discrete.

What is the answer to Grumpy King on Neopets?

There is no correct answer. It is completely random. You know, it's not random each time, if you search on the internet for answers you might get one.
