You have only about half pressure on your pool pump?

Usually the pressure gauge on your pool equipment indicates how much pressure there is before the filter. as the pressure goes up it indicates that the filter is getting blocked and needs a backwash or cleaning. while the pressure is low the filter does not need cleaning.

Can you drain an inground pool with the pools back wash?

Let me say first backwashing is a process for simply ridding the filter of dirt, once you backwash the pressure and cleanness of the filter will begin to collect and store more dirt from the pool, Look at the gauge at the filter remember the pressure or write it down as the pressure goes up the flow of water going back to the pool will go down to the point that very little water will go back into the pool. When the pressure is low the water flow from the filter will be high meaning that the filter is not clogged or dirty.

Why is pool pressure low?

Don't possibly know why you could be loosing pressure on the pool. However you may be loosing pressure in the line to the pool from the filter. If you are also loosing suction then : there is not enough water in the pool and the skimmer is sicking air. bad pump seal loose pump lid bad o-ring seal at pump lid loose fittings in and out of the pump. that is the piece of equip. that has the motor attached. The filter is the large tank. The pool is the vessel that is holding all the water. You can also lose pressure if your skimmer and your pump baskets are filled with debris, kink in the hoses, or your filter needs to be cleaned, or filter sand or cartridge needs replaced. You also may be thinking of pressure as in the force of the water coming out of the return jets. If this is the case, then your filter has become dirty and the water can't pass thru it very well. Clean your filter.

How do you increase pressure for a pool vacuum with a sand filter?

Is this pressure of water going in a filter or pressure of water coming out a filter? Do you mean increase the flow of water? An increase in the filter pressure alone without going to a larger size impeller or newer pump will only indicate that the filter is getting dirty. If you need more flow consider changing the impeller or even upgrading the pump BUT you have to know what the outcome of that change will be. You have to know what the hydraulics and pump curve is in order to keep from overpumping the water. Too much flow can be detremental to the plumbing, the pump, the heater. Going to a large size pump most likely now increase your flow if the pipes can not handle that extra flow of water. Sometimes whrn a pump is not sized properly - going to a smaller size pump or impeller - whichever the case may be - will increase the flow of water or GPM. There is a is a trick or formula for sizing pool pumps, filters and heaters to a particular pool.

What is the normal gauge pressure for a 16' x 30' ingroung pool?

It could be as low as 8, or 10, 12, the pressure could even be lower depending on your filter size, the lower the pressure the cleaner your filter media is the higher the pressure say 17, then you need to back wash or change the media, if you are not using sand.

What would your pool filter read without the cartridge?

If you remove the cartridge from your filter housing, the presssure reading will drop. If you are having low pressure issues this is an easy way to determine if the problem is on the pressure side of the suction side of the pump. Depending on what type of pool you have, and what in on the equipment pad. If you pump usually runs at 15 -18 psi then with out the filter I would guess it would be about 8 psi. Hope that helps.

Should Mitsubishi gt3000 have low oil pressure?

In short, NO. Check your oil level and viscosity, or just change your filter and oil to be sure. Low pressure can come from a clogged filter.

What is normal pump pressure range?

The lower the pressure the less work the filter is doing, 7 to 10 psi is a good pressure. Another tip would be to put your hand by the outlet where the water goes back into the pool if the water pushes your hand away you have good pressure also take a pressure reading at the filter, if you put your hand at the outlet and the water does not push your hand away take a pressure reading, backwash the filter, put your hand at the outlet again if it pushes it away go back to the filter look at the gauge and see what it reads now, and that would be your suggested low pressure for your filter.

How do you know if you got a gas filter problem?

Low fuel pressure.

Will a car try to keep starting if the fuel persure is low?

Yes, it can. A fuel pressure test will verify if you had low fuel pressure. Be sure to replace the fuel filter to eliminate a clogged filter as the culprit.

What causes low oil pressure in a Chevy Tahoe?

One of the causes for low oil pressure in a Chevy Tahoe could be a clogged or dirty oil filter. Changing the filter may get rid of the problem.

Why is the Swimming pool pump low pressure?

YOu probably need to release air pressure or backwash. The pressure builds up because the flow is inhibited. Is the return weaker than normal? It is usually sediment on top of the sand that is impeding the water flow and backwashing will push the water up through the sand and out to waste. this will clear the sand and allow water to flow better. Good Luck This does not indicate what type of filter you are using. The above answer assumed a sand filter, so I will address a DE filter. Pressure will build up in a DE filter when the grids inside the filter itself need to be cleaned. This should be done on an annual basis, but sometimes needs to be done more frequently. For example, when I used flock (an additive that causes small particles to clump together and sink to the bottom where they can be more easily vacuumed), this caused my grids to be clogged. (Note that the lesson I learned here was to use liquid flock not powder). Another way to reduce pressure is to add more DE. To do this, backwash your filter until the water is completely clear. Turn the pump valve back to filter mode and turn the pump back on. Pressure should be low at this time. Begin adding DE through the skimmer. I usually use 2-3 scoops (my scoop is about size of a small coffee can). Pressure may still rise a bit from when you first turned the pump back on, but it should stay lower than before you added the DE.
