haram means sacred

Masjid-al-Haram is the most sacred place on the face of the earth. The holy Ka'aba is situated in it. Quarreling, bickering, fighting, killing of animals and doing bad and evil deeds is Haram in this Masjid. It enjoys the Hurmat - sacredness - of the highest degree.
