Why should you help the needy?

Every species has a natural emotion towards their own race to help it survive and thrive. Humans, like every other species, have a natural want for other humans to survive. Therefore, when we help people in need it gives us a natural feeling of purpose that we just helped our existance.

It's also nice to help the poor when many of us have more than enough than what we need.

Why is it not so important to help the poor? Listen, these people are starving... do we really have to watch them die and not feeding them while we have everything we need? It is always good to help others out and you will feel the fluttering in your heart for being so generous, no doubt.

A government which helps its poor is also a more humane government.

Well if YOU were homeless, wouldn't you want someone to help YOU? Help them in any way you can.

We should help the homeless because it would be selfish not to. The homeless have no home and possibly no food. They have no toys to play with and we do. We have all these thinks so why can't we give some away? Please donate to the homeless!

Homeless people are very unfortunate and need our help. You certainly SHOULD help them. They do not have anything to sleep on, eat from, go to, or have Andy family to support and help them! :(

Some think that handing money to the homeless (vs. giving them food, clothing and/or shelter) encourages begging.
