Old wives tale. Mostly a waste of time (except for peanuts).
Your digestive system cannot tell the difference if it is chewed properly, meaning Women should chew only 7 times as a maximum, whereas Men should chew 12 times as a maximum for proper digestion. No matter what, the starchy content will not go down even if you toast or bake the bread. Neither is healthier. They're both the same thing.
I'm not quite sure, but I think it's because you can enjoy your food more if you chew and eat slower, and also because you actually consume less calories if you chew and eat slower. Unbelievable, isn't it?
No mice can't chew into plastic cages, but rats can because they have very sharp teeth. Hope this helps!
I have this too.....for some reason it only happened to me after using Arm and Hammer toothpaste....but maybe its the baking soda in it. If you chew tobacco you should be worried.
in most cases it is a verb, in the act of "chewing".

Professionals state that you should chew your food for at least 13 seconds before you swallow. This aids in digestion.
It all depends on how much and what kind of food it is eating.
According to studies food should be chewed about 32 times, foods that are harder to chew, such as steak and nuts may need up to 40 chews per mouthful. For foods that are softer such as mashed potato and watermelon you can get away with chewing just 5-10 times.
The word, masticate, means to chew, as in "Masticate (chew) your food well before swallowing."
no they swallow it whole and later it gets smaller in its stomach

I think it swallowing helps to push the food that are already chew.
It doesn't.
If you bite it in half before swallowing it, it will kick in faster. Similar to how you might chew up Advil tablets before swallowing them, if you are really in excruciating pain and you can't wait 30 minutes for it to start feeling better.
