Bear in mind that there are many different religious points of view, so any answer that I give is not the only answer. However the general idea is that life has been given to you by God, and if you kill yourself you are rejecting God's gift, which is sinful. In addition, suicide can be considered a waste of whatever opportunity you may have to do anything worthwhile here on Earth. Most people have at least some opportunity to make the world better in some way, however small, or to help another person, even if they no longer feel that they can help themselves, and God would prefer for you to do that, rather than killing yourself.

∙ 12y agoIt's killing yourself. It's actually against the law in some places. If you have a religion, a lot of them tell you that committing suicide is wrong.
Also your not thinking of other people when you're committing suicide, there are
a lot of people who care about you so, they won't exactly want you dead.
Slight correction: Suicide is not in and of itself illegal.
How is it illegal? like if you say you're going to kill yourself you will go to jail?

∙ 14y agoMoral issues have to do largely with the obligations that we have toward our fellow human beings. Dead people are not able to carry out any such obligations, and if you kill yourself you are abandoning anyone who may need you for any reason. From a theological perspective, life is seen as a gift from God, which you are obligated to use in a constructive manner.
