Why do you have sharp pains from your heart to your left nipple?

The heart does NOT sit in the center of the chest. It actually sits mostly behind your left nipple, but the heart is slightly tilted so a bit is toward the center. However, many things can cause a sharp pain or pains in the chest cavity. One is heartburn. Another is gas pain that radiates upward. A nerve in the ribcage, or even a muscle strain can hurt near or around the heart. These are usually pains that come and go.
If you are over 30 to 40 years old, or older, you should have your doctor check your heart. If you are younger than 30 and play sports, or are overweight, have your doctor check you over.
