Why was Andrew Jackson known as the people's president?

Jackson was born on the western frontier, and was a military leader, not one of the highly-educated intellectual politicians of his time. Thus, he was seen as kindred to the common man. He was one of the first true American populists.

In the case of Maryland v Mcculoch the Supreme Court of the United States ruled that the National Bank was constitutional, regardless of any laws, "King Andrew I" ruled the country the way he saw fit. He is, in my opinion, one of the worst presidents of America. Whereas Thomas Jefferson is one of the greatest. Thomas Jefferson is the author of Declaration of Independence, Virginia Statue of Religious Freedom, and founder of University of Virginia.

Andrew jackson resigned from the Senate so he could run for the election of presidency. on Which task he failed miserably in the first election against Henry Clay and John Quincy Adams in 1824, known as the "corrupt bargain" by the Jacksonians since Andrew Jackson was so unpopular among the politicians, Henry Clay who had no chance of winning and was a member of the senate threw his support at John Quincy Adams and he became President and when he did he made Henry Clay his Secretary of State which was a VERY important position in government office back then. Andrew Jackson eventually became the President of United States.

Andrew Jackson is a demagogue because:

1. He lied to the nation by saying John Adams procured an American prostitute for the Russia tzar on his trip there as an envoy.

2. He violated the constitution by over-riding supreme court's decision not to throw out the cherookee from Georgia

3. He had no concern for Human rights hence throwing out all the Cherookee tribes from Georgia and saying "they are not really a nation" and they are "savages".

4. He destroyed the national bank for personal issues he was quoted as saying "The Bank is trying to kill me but I will kill it"

5. He was not popular among other politicians he was only famous for the battle of New Orleans, first time he ran for presidency he lost to John Quincy Adams and the election was thrown in the House of Representatives and John Clay and nearly all other politicians threw their support for John Quincy Adams.

6. Even Thomas Jefferson, the author of declaration of Independence and the Virginia Statue of religious freedom and one of the most influential of founding fathers to date said "He is the most unfit man to be the president"

7. The so called Jacksonian Revolution created more wealthy Jacksonian than the ones they disposed.

The "spoils system" which he introduced eliminated all the seasoned and experienced politicians and replaced them with illiterate farmers who had no political experience whatsoever just so he could gain their support (farmers made up 90% of the population) or he rewarded these offices to his friends who had supported his campaign.

Jackson hated the East Coast elite. All the way back to his experiences in the Revolution and immediately after. When he went to the frontier, which was then Tennessee and Kentucky he found immediate acceptance. He was a presentable young man with education and endless courage. The circumstances of his marriage did not offend people there. Most admired him for defending his wife all his life. His temper and willingness to defend what he saw as his honor were balanced by a natural good nature most the time. He was a natural military leader. He could be hard and cruel to the extreme. And generous in reaction to courage or helplessness on the other side. He was a man of his time. And pretty liberal considering his time.
