During the 100 Years' War, Joan of Arc was a huge morale booster for the French troops. With the French on the verge of falling to the English, she traveled with the French soldiers, giving them something to fight for in a sense. She did not actually fight, however.

∙ 11y agoJoan of Arc was an effective/good leader because she was assertive and dedicated. She managed to convince the daupin of her visions and soon had a force to command. Many of her men would not fight without her and she won a number of battles including the battle of Orleans.

Joan of arc lived at a small village called Domrémy, France, that's also where she was born. She lived there till she went off to war with the men.
As a teenager she heard voices from on high urging her to save France from English domination. Despite being a young woman, she was placed at the head of an army; she attacked the English and forced them to retreat from Orléans. Later she was captured by the English, tried for heresy, and burned at the stake. In 1920 she was canonized by the Catholic Church. That is why she is a hero. Also my hero. =]
She did what no other girl ever did, she went to war with the men, and when she heard a voice from the heavens above she new she had to save France from the English, so she made the English retreat and leave Orléans alone for good, but they kidnapped her and burned her at the stake. SO in my point of view she made the world a better place by saving her contry and standing up for what she beleaves in.
