Eyeliner has been around since early Egyptian times. In the 1920's, after archeologists discovered king Tuts tomb, women began using eyeliner as a form of self expression.
before the 1800's, fire was the only means of lighting a room. people often used candles, kerosene lamps, fireplaces, torches, and matches. it wasn't until 1800 that Humphrey Davey discovered how to create a glowing electric arc by running a current through a piece of carbon. Thomas Alva Edison perfected this method in 1879 by experimenting with different materials so that his incandescent light bulb would last for hours at a time.
I don't know what you mean by "recently". It was discovered in the 1500's by the Spaniards.
Discovered in 1886, but not isolated until the 1950's.

Autoimmune diseases were not discovered until the 1950's. Henry G. Kunkel is the doctor who first discovered it by studying patients who had rheumatoid arthritis and lupus.
The pendulum was discovered by Galileo Galilei at around 1602, and up until the 1930's, it was the world's most accurate timekeeping technology.
From the 1940's until about 2000 when dark energy (or rather the acceleration of expansion) was discovered.
Pandora is an inner satellite of Saturn. It was discovered in 1980 from photos taken by the Voyager 1 probe, and was provisionally designated S/1980 S 26. In late 1985 it was officially named after Pandora from Greek mythology. It is also designated as Saturn XVII. Pandora is the outer shepherd satellite of the F Ring. It is more heavily cratered than nearby Prometheus, and has at least two large craters 30 km in diameter. The orbit of Pandora appears to be chaotic, as a consequence of a mean motion resonance with Prometheus. The most appreciable changes in their orbits occur approximately every 6.2 years, when the periapsis of Pandora lines up with the apoapsis of Prometheus and the moons approach to within about 1,400 km. Pandora also has a 3:2 mean-motion resonance with Mimas. From its very low density and relatively high albedo, it seems likely that Pandora is a very porous icy body. There is a lot of uncertainty in these values, however, so this remains to be confirmed.
It was discovered in the mid 1800's to 1900's.
Pluto, now officially considered a "dwarf planet", was discovered by Clyde Tombaugh at Lowell Observatory in Flagstaff, AZ, in 1930.
