Paul was imprisoned because of the gospel of Christ
Continuing thought:
More to the point, Paul was imprisoned because he PREACHED the gospel of Christ(1 Corinthians 9:16). He acted as an 'ambassador in chains'(Ephesians 6:20), sharing the truth from the scriptures about Jesus (2 Timothy 2:8-9)(1 Thessalonians 2:2)to anyone who would listen (Acts 16:13-14)and speaking out against the demon involvement and immoral lifestyle of a godless generation(Acts 16:16-24). These actions were not appreciated by the 'powers that be' at that time. He worked to 'defend the good news' (Philippians 1:7,13-17) so that the preaching work could be accomplished worldwide as Jesus commanded (Mathew 28:19+20/Matthew 24:14). Even in prison, he continued to preach (Acts 28:16,30,31) until killed, it is believed, by Nero (2 Timothy 4:6-8).
