Why was it necessary to have 750 soldiers to kill the Bab?

A full regiment of 750 soldiers was called upon to be sure nothing again happened and the execution successful. Another smaller miracle followed -- not one bullet had touched the Bab's face, which was said to have been serene and smiling at His death.

Why did the Persian government decided 750 were needed? The government did not give a reason. Executioners do not explain their actions to those they execute.
