t was necessary to keep Harold from knowing the truth about his father's profession because everybody in the family felt that Harold was a child prodigy and this would affect his mentality in a wrong way. Boxing wasn't considered to be a very respectable profession and people thought that Harold might feel ashamed of his father if he knew that his father was a mere boxer.So,they were scared also from Harold.
