God Curses Miriam with Leprosy for speaking against Moses.
Miriam.
Miriam, the sister of Moses and Aaron, was punished by God with leprosy for speaking against Moses. She questioned his authority and was struck with leprosy as a consequence.
A brief episode of leprosy (Numbers ch.12).
Miriam was not Aaron's wife. She was his sister. Exodus 15:20 And Miriam the prophetess, the sister of Aaron, took a timbrel in her hand; and all the women went out after her with timbrels and with dances. She was punished by being stricken with leprosy. Numbers 12:10 And the cloud departed from off the tabernacle; and, behold, Miriam became leprous, white as snow: and Aaron looked upon Miriam, and, behold, she was leprous.
I suppose leprosy is the disease most mentioned in the Bible. Also God punished Miriam, (Numbers 2.10), and king Uzziah,(2 Chronicles 26.19), and Gehazi, (2 Kings 5.27), with leprosy. Also Jesus healed many lepers.
I do not have leprosy.
The curse of leprosy was not sent upon the wife of Moses. The curse was sent upon his sister, Miriam, when she and brother Aaron spoke against Moses and his wife.
She was sick with a disease that in Hebrew we call Tsoraas. Most people translate it as leprosy, but have know proof that this is exactly what the Torah is talking about. What we do know is that the infection causes white lesions on the skin.
Some people are genetically resistant to leprosy, probably and no matter what, they do not get leprosy. Other with tuberculous type of leprosy have high resistance to leprosy. Those with lepromatous type of leprosy have least resistance to leprosy germs. The intermediate leprosy type have intermediate resistance to leprosy germs. Body reacts to leprosy by trying to kill the leprosy causing germs. There is an inflammatory response.
no
Numbers 12:1-15 gives no information as to whether Adam and Eve were dark skinned. Instead, the specific verses deal with Miriam's leprosy. Miriam was the sister of Aaron and Moses. So she lived many centuries after Adam and Eve.
No you can not catch leprosy by a cockroach.
