As far as I know the 583.24 was Not recalled... 583.21 were... Bad Metallurgy would cause the bolt to break and shoot out backwards towards the shooters face.. Also there is a number to call sears... they will verify your model number and let you know how to send it in if there is a recall...... my info was obtained from here.....
