Phones were invented because of many things but one main one is to communicate to each other for help or anything else so if it wasn't for phones we would have no technology to use for audio conversation. It was a story told by mr Watson he said they had a problem of walking so much so they had an idea of creating a electrical device which communicates (Phone). Phones were manly invented because they were supposed to help people not having to walk everywhere and so they could learn technology.
