This is a much debated topic in history, but from my understanding, after the fourteen points were issued by Woodrow Wilson as a result of World War I, Hitler was very upset that Germany had surrendered and agreed to such terms. The terms were extremely harsh, and basically blamed Germany for all of WWI. Hitler, at the time, had been in the army. He was injured and had been in the hospital when he heard the news of the surrender. He was extremely angry, and he made it his conquest to get back at whoever did this. The leaders of Germany that had agreed to the surrender terms were Jewish, and thus he blamed them. He decided that he didn't care what the terms said, he was going to build an army larger than 100,000. He believed that what happened to Germany was wrong, and that Germany needed "Lebenstraum" (living space in German). Thus, the Jewish people were blamed, and that began the Holocaust.

  • depended how they were.
  • some were taken to gas chambers immediately after some Jews got off the train for transportation. some were even shot.
  • they separated people, like boys and men on one side of the camp, girls and women on the other side, from there, they would be told to either line up and got left or right. (left is the gas chambers) (right is the registration section where the Jews would get their serial numbers , give up their clothes, glasses, rings, or anything valuable, and they would also have their hair cut off.
  • Children were separated as well, twins away from regular children. The twins would go to a separate barrack (cabin) and be experimented on by a Doctor Who was cruel, evil, and nice at the same time. the regular children would be sent to gas chambers or shot.

Something that history books don't emphasize enough is that only a bare majority of Jews who died as part of the Nazi-led extermination efforts were killed in the extermination camps (Auschwitz, Treblinka, Maly Trostenets, et al). A terrifying number were killed by the Einsatzgruppe, roving Nazi paramilitary death squads, who primarily shot or hacked to death upwards of a million Jews in Poland/U.S.S.R. during 1939-1941. An almost equal number died in various concentration (Dachau, Buchenwald, et al) camps. And a similar number died in the various Ghettos throughout Nazi-conquered Europe, or during transport. While most Jews at the death camps died in the various gas chambers (or gas vans, in the case of Chelmno), deaths elsewhere were due to beatings, shootings, and pure neglect (starvation and exposure).

And, finally, a non-trivial number died at the hands of Soviet forces, and, additionally, at the hands of various pro-Nazi groups in various occupied countries. Virtually all of these people were shot or beaten to death.
