How much does a microwave weigh in grams?

The first microwave as we know was a radio transmitter, a scientist was standing close to it and noticed that the candy bar in his pocket was melting, therefore, the first microwave probably weighed about 800 pounds. The first commercial microwave oven probably weighed about 180 lbs.If you can remember the mid 70s, whenever a microwave oven was used in a store, the cashier would ask if anyone had a pacemaker. Hope this helped. If so, please 'Recommend Contributor'

How much did a micro wave cost in 1952?

In 1947, Raytheon demonstrated the world's first microwave oven and called it a "Radarange," the winning name in an employee contest. Housed in refrigerator-sized cabinets, the first microwave ovens cost between $2,000 and $3,000. Sometime between 1952-55, Tappan introduced the first home model priced at $1295. In 1965 Raytheon acquired Amana Refrigeration. Two years later, the first countertop, domestic oven was introduced. It was a 100-volt microwave oven, which cost just under $500 and was smaller, safer and more reliable than previous models. this article was taken from Excerpts from the book The Complete Microwave Oven Service Handbook 2007 http://www.gallawa.com/microtech/history.html

Can you heat up air in microwave oven?

Yes, you can heat air in a microwave oven, but the appliance isn't good at doing that. There are a few reasons for this. First, the microwaves will most effectively only heat the water vapor in air or water in something in the cavity (the cooking area). That means that thermal energy transferred into water vapor or something in the cavity that has water in it will have to be transferred to the air to heat that air. We also know that a microwave has a fan in it to keep the microwave generating component cool. The air is heated as it cooles the device, and that warm air is then ducted through the cavity and out another side of the oven. This happens continuously. The air in the cavity is constantly being "replaced" with other air. Heating air in a microwave is not something the device can do well.

What would happen if you microwaved a CD wrapped in tin foil for 11 minutes?

Most Likely The Foil Would Burn, Due To The Microwave. Then The CD May Or May Not Heat Up, Due It Being A Hard Plastic. Then Again The Inside May Be Dark So It Would Heat Up. Heck Get A Book At The Libary And Read Up On Microwave Ovens, Bet You Will Be Fasicnated The microwave would catch on fire, because of the metal in it. KABOOM!!!
