Why is salt not soluble in oil but not in water?

The answer is very simple.Sugar and Salt dissolve in water but oil does not because sugar and salt are lighter in weight than water but oil is much heavier than the actual volume of water.That's why it doesn't dissolver.

As you put salt in water the salt and water molecules begin breaking apart into charged particles. The positively charged water molecules surround the negatively charged Cl atoms. The negatively charged water molecules surround the positively charged Na atoms. The separated Na and Cl molecules disperse within the water, therefore dissolving.
