if its new that's weird, have it checked out, but if it is a older iPod, fact is, ipods only have so many charge cycles before you have to get a replacement battery. I own a iPod myself, and after one year of heavy use, my battery started lasting for 10 minutes MAX. i sent it in and got a replacement battery, and works like a charm now.

Yes, they all use the same 30 pin dock connector, the only one you can't use is the iPod Shuffle charger because it's completely different as it uses the headphone port to charge.

Ok, well I had this same prob. The way for me to fix it was take out the batter leave it out for 30 seconds and put it back in the charge should work! But sometimes you have to do it for every charge!

My friend said it takes sometimes 20- 30 minutes for her's to charge but she also did say that it may take an hour to a few hours for an ipod to charge. My 4g ipod touch only takes about 10-20 minutes to charge but if it is fully dead i would say probably only 30-45 minutes!!!!!! totaly not 3 hours
