Check the shift linkage to see if it is loose , and has gotten out of adjustment . Unhook both the high /reverse linkage and the low linkage . See if you can shift it out of gear with a pair of pliers . Then see if you can get it in high and reverse . If you can then adjust the linkage .
you would use polaris specified AGL fluid in the transmission
The 800, hands down. The 550 is actually on par with a 500 efi. However, the XP platform the 550 comes in is much better all around than the older 500/800 platform.
Broken cable or linkage? Transmission trouble (?)
I weigh about 130 pounds and i got mine to go about 68 on flat land soi would imagine it would go around the mid 50's
No, it will not fit. While it would physically fit it has differernt sensor hook ups and won't work properly. 99-02 Sportsman 400 and 500 share the same transmission. I am not sure about 03-up.
Check your shift linkage as one linkage is for low . another for high and reverse .
Air / petrol setting in the carberator requires setting. Also check the float level and needle height.
i would say that ur exaute gaskit let go clean off the old one and put a new one it will work

No, Polaris would not be overhead if you were at the South Pole. The North Star -- Polaris -- is not visible from the Southern Hemisphere.
Your at the equator if you see Polaris at the horizon
