It would not be accurate enough. The clinical thermometer works over a limited range and gives accurate more readings. It would be useful. The temperature of patients rarely drop below freezing and they rarely boil. It would be useless to measure the temperature of food though because food is often cooked above 100C.
The doctor will take the temperature of the patient using a clinical thermometer.
The doctor will examine the patient's back and hips to check for conditions that require surgery or emergency treatment.
Only a real doctor can make that determination ... after examining the patient.
For a normal thermometer you can use warm water and soap. The body cavity you are sticking it into is not a wound and is not sterile so neither does the thermometer have to be. When they use a electrical thermometer at the hospital they have plastic coats they put on them, one for each patient. These are clean but not sterile. Depends on the design. The steam is so much hotter than what the thermometer's top level is that it can be damaged by steam.
Usually in a case like this, the Doctor will have a Nurse (female) step into the exam room while the Doctor performs his examination on the Patient. This way the Doctor has a witness that can vouch for him if any false accusations are brought up against him.
Be nice to them, Treat them like there the first patient to come to you? Try and answer or help answer their questions and dont leave them scerd about something! Make sure they're comfortable with how you are examining them..

When someone asks you if you are the doctor or the patient, it usually means that you are the patient but you are trying to diagnosis your symptoms as if you were the doctor.
i am sure it can't not if the doctor didn't see the patient
It means they should see a doctor. It may just be an irregular menstrual period- not unusual in younger women, but it is impossible to diagnose a medical condition without examining the patient. Go see a doctor, get a checkup.
