Probably your fuel pump. My sunfire did that to, would die while I was driving for extended periods of time. Everyonce in awhile I could get it to start but for the most part I had to call a tow truck (5 times in the winter) I brought it to the mech. he changed the alternator, coil pack, coil pack housing, spark plugs, wires going to the computer, and a whole lot of other stuff I didnt need. Most likely its your fuel pump.
