I do not know why a Priest would not baptize a baby. This is unusual. Some pastors of churches do not believe a baby should be baptized because they have not reached the "age of accountability", but they will do a christening ritual in place of a baptism on babies.

∙ 8y agoIt depends on the Christian pastor. Some refuse to baptize if the person and their family are not members of that specific church. Some refuse because the person is not a member of that denomination or sect. And some, especially those from conservative denominations, refuse if the parents are gay, or if the parents are heterosexual but not married to each other. But it's difficult to generalize, and different faiths have different rules. To avoid misunderstandings, ask the pastor what the policy is at that church, and if you think you will be denied, you can always seek out other pastors (since not all pastors follow the same policies).
