she's not ready for a commitment and just playing the field It all depends on what kind of kiss. If it was a liplocker, she might be just playing the field, like he said, but if it was a peck of death, you could just be doomed to friendship. No guy wants that with a hot girl. Most importantly, should you really be concerned? If you are, she most likely got what she wanted. Of course, this may be a response in error and she is just "confused," but which do you prefer: to be manipulated or be with someone who doesn't know what she wants (Okay, by "someone" meaning maybe, a nut! One without concern about how her actions affect others. Usually, my efforts are to be less blunt, but to send the message. Sorry.) Maybe it would be best to relish the kiss, place it in your repertroire of memories. Have you tried talking to her? "Try" is the key word. If you tried talking to her, you'll get results. You cannot just stand there and look at her from afar, or hope she comes up to you sometime for another kiss.
