Antilock Brake Light comes on and stays on when the ABS computer detects some problem with the antilock brakesystem components. You will still have normal brake use, but the Antilock system will probably not work as an Antilock brake system is supposed to work. ABS system diagnostic code readers are available and are recommended for diagnostic purposes, however fixing ABS systems is perhaps best left up to the Pros. . .
A problem has been detected with the Antilock Brake System It could be a fuse , a sensor , or some other problem As long as the red " BRAKE " light in your dash is not on , you still have " normal " brakes
Problem with the Antilock Brake System, (ABS). The repair is best left to a professional.
No. BAS (brake assist system) and ESP (electronic skip protection) are part of the antilock brake system. They have nothing to do with the oxygen sensors.No. BAS (brake assist system) and ESP (electronic skip protection) are part of the antilock brake system. If the ((ABS)) Light is on then it's a good thing indicating that the Antilock brakes sensor is in good condition. I too have a 2002 mountaineer
No.
no the bar light on your instrument panel that is located on the trunk of the car diagram would light.
No , the brake light should come on when you press the parking brake pedal , but the ABS light should not come on
By having the anti-lock brake system fixed. Resetting the light will do no good unless the system is repaired. It will just come back on. I suggest you have this repaired by a qualified tech. You still have standard braking even though the ABS is non-functional.
Check if emergency brake is fully disengaged.
