Probably an old hose that should have been replaced. Replace the hose, clamps and the radiator cap. Inspect the other hoses. The radiator cap should release pressure in excess of psi noted on cap, usually 15 to 17 psi.

What is a radiator for?

The radiator helps cool liquids that exits the engine. A tube at the top of the radiator flows the liquid into the radiator. Fans blow air into the radiator and cools this liquid. This liquid is then exited through the bottom of radiator and released back into the engine to be used. Radiator also holds coolant to to speed cooling process of liquid

if it is on the engine side it sucks air through the radiator and toward the engine, a fan on the other side would blow but also would impede air flow through the rad.

What damage is there from an engine overheating?

depending on how much it overheats.... you can blow a head gasket...warp your heads ... crack your radiator..

What causes a head gasket on a car to blow?

Anything that causes the engine to run hot, like a faulty thermostat, can cause the head gasket to blow. also say a coolant hose ruptures, all the coolant is then drained from the radiator and the engine is then essentially running with no way to cool down, gasket blows. there are many ways for the engine to run hot, but it is the main reason a head gasket would blow out.

Why would there be blow back coming from the radiator?

Cracked head or bad head gasket.

Can driving without oil and water in coolant cause engine to blow up?

Why no heat elantra?

Check the engine coolant level. My 2004 would blow cold at a stop light, then warm by the next light. The top radiator hose was leaking causing the level to be low.
