You would expect to see significant ionization in the flame. Flame tests are performed on metals because as they ionize in the flame they produce unique colors from different metal ions.

How does flame rectification works in a gas furnace?

AC voltage(at least 90vac) pass through the flame sensor and the ionization of the flame creates or rectifies the voltage to DC and a small microamp that can be measured with a meterl.

When a strontium compound is heated in a flame red light is produced When a barium compound is heated in a flame yellow-green light is produced Explain why these colors are emitted?

Yes

Explain A charge insulator can be discharge by passing it just above a flame?

A charged insulator can be discharged by passing it just above a flame because a flame has a cloud of ions above it. Even though the overall charge above the flame is neutral, a charged insulator will use up the ions that it needs and neutralize.

is this flame retardant?

All the metal components should withstand extreme heat; as for the foam seat cushion, I wouldn't expect much.

What is luminous flame and Explain why it takes a longer time to heat equal amount of water using a luminous flame?

yellow color in a luminous flame produces soot or carbon. carbon dioxide is present in the luminous flame but when its combined with oxygen the flame is nonluminous which is in a blue color. it takes a longer time because luminous flame is cooler than the nonluminous. I only know what luminous flame is. The inner part of luminous flame is blue while the outer part of the luminous flame is yellow. It is unsteady. Yeah. Carbon Dioxide is only present in the luminous flame. When oxygen is combined with the flame, the flame will become non- luminous which is inner and outer part are blue. Hmm. Actually luminous flame's hottest part is at the bottom while non- luminous flame hottest part is at the middle and the top. That's all i know. If i know more, i will update for you. Thank you! Does the flame of gas stove emit light Explain.?

Yes it emit

When is flame emission spectroscopy used?

It can be used for element identification and can used in Atomic spectroscopy and can be used to help "atoms with low ionization potentials become ionized."

A charge insulater can be discharge by passin it just above a flame explain?

Flame consists in a great portion of ionised gases which conduct electricity.

Why are things black when they burn?

carbonization. That would explain black flame residue.

When you cook spaghetti in water you have salted with NaCl When the water boils it causes the flame of the gas burner to turn bright orange How would you explain the appearance of a color in the flame?

The sodium turns the flame bright orange..

What effects would you expect on the flame colors if these compounds were chlorides instead of nitrates?

The flame colors would be the same because the metal ions produced the colored flames, not the anion (NO3-).
