You have a gasoline leak. Unless you want this car to catch fire
and burn up, have this looked into by a professional. Do not park
this vehicle in a garage until you get it fixed. Your house may
burn down if the vehicle catches fire.

Why does a 2000 Ford Taurus smell like gas in and out of the car?

More than likely a leak in the engine compartment
somewhere..Especially if you turn the heat on and can smell you can
be sure its coming from the front. If its only when the car is
running then its probably along the fuel rail somewhere. If you can
smell it just as strong when the car is off then its a line and
your car probably does not get good gas mileage. start there or
take to a mechanic asap! gas is way to expensive now a days!!

Why would the car smell like gas and the trunk smell like gas?

More than likely because its leaking.
If the gas smell is stronger in the trunk then that normally
indicates that there is a leak in a fuel line around or on top of
the tank...usually it is on top of the tank because dirt/salt ect
can build up on the tank and the lines corrode...
If the smell is stronger inside the car then it could indicate a
leak in the fuel line from the engine compartment to the center
point of the car...
None the less if you are smelling gas then there is a leak
somewhere in the system and you should have it checked before it
catches fire and burns up...

Why do you smell gas when Air conditioner is on?

If you're smelling gas with the A/C on that means you have a gas
leak in your engine compartment. The gas smell is being sucked into
the fresh air intake of your A/C.
Check the fuel injector "O" rings for leaks. Also the fuel
pressure regulator.
