You are overexerting your back in some way. This may not mean that you are doing too much work, it may only mean that you are doing it in the wrong way. You have to find ways to do things that cause less strain on your back. Pick things up with your legs, not your back. Don't lean over a desk to do paperwork, sit at the desk with a good posture. And so forth.
