yes..its the exact same thing but different internals and such
C6 is the sixth generation(or body style) and z06 is just a package available on the c5, c6 and c7 corvette. Z06 is also wider, body panels are not the same!
No, they stopped making the C5 generation Z06 in 2004 and started making the C6 generation Z06 in 2006
The Z06 wheels are not only very wide, have a staggered width, front to rear, but also have a ton of negative offset. But, I do not think you will run into a problem.
On the C5 Corvette, there is no spare tire. The closest you can get to a spare tire is on the C5 Z06 models. They had an option that included a 12-volt air pump and a can of Fix-A-Flat.
It will fit, but you have to remove the rear ducts for the brakes, this won't do no harm to your car. Ducts are there to help cool the brakes, but no problem at all for everyday driving . Also it will sticks out about an inch or so. A c5 z06 with fender flares and 19x12 rest wheels look very beasty
Yes it will, to get the details on the swap feel free to drop by Smokinvette.com and just ask the question in the C5 section! Good luck!
yes
There is a great diagram in the C5 section at Smokinvette.com. Ask for "corvettedon" and good luck!
There is another great diagram over at Smokinvette.com in the C5 technical section! Good luck!
The C5 Z06 is computer limited at 174 mph. Some Z06 corvettes with the rev limiter removed top out around 187 mph.
Yes, besides an increase to 405 hp (385 hp in 2001). The suspension is tighter, the engine block is aluminium, the exhaust is Titanium. The gearing is different and the red line is raised.
Neither, it classified as the "C6" because the generation before the C6 was the C5 and it too had a Z06. Feel free to go to Smokinvette.com and you can read up on more of the details of this great car!
