yes, all s10 are practically identical from 94 to the 04 redesign to Colorado. the 4.3 vortec was added in 1996 - on and this made all 4.3 motors have 190 hp. there was practically no redesign in this time period except a new interior in 1999 and a front end body resign in a believe 1999 as well.

sure, it should. yes, as long as its the same motor that came out of your car in the first place, it should fit fine. if the motor is different you will also have to grab the Pcm and related wires out of the donor car with the motor.
I don't know about mounting it, but the diesel motor is too heavy for the suspension on a 1500 (1/2 ton) truck.
