The 2006 Chevy Impala typically comes with a four-speed automatic transmission (4T65E) in most of its configurations. Some models, particularly those with the 3.9-liter V6 engine, may be equipped with a six-speed automatic transmission (6T70). These transmissions are designed to provide smooth shifting and enhance fuel efficiency.
