Your air conditioning unit is going out, Which is connected to the serpentine belt which is connected to the pulleys on your engine which could cause your car to run rough. Also you need to either have your air coditioning unit removed or replaced because it could do serious damage to your engine.
micra idle adjustmentThe idle screw is under the auto choke unit, Philips screw head.
under the bonnet mate by the engine
If it is not overheating then the temp gage or the sending unit are bad.
When a car, such as a Hyundai accent, has and broken idle control valve the engine may or may not start. Idling is controlled by this part and the car a malfunctioning unit can cause the car to act erratically, such as starting at random times and stalling.
Answercoolant temp sensor reading wrong to engine control unit, idle air control motor, vacuum leak, or problem w/airmass sensor. Should be a check engine light on, if so have the codes read, they will help determine the cause of the idle problem.
The engine control unit (computer) controls the idle. The only way to alter it is to either have a performance chip installed or have an engine tech alter your stock chip (may or may not be possible).
Temp sending unit for ecm. most likely sensor is bad computer cant read engine temp, fast idle do to cold reading
If you have already cleaned the throttle body and it has not cleared up the problem, then you may as well price out a idle control unit and an ecu(engine control unit).the idle control unit shorts out and takes the ecu with it!Ecu can be rebuilt, there are companies on eBay for $100 .
If your engine is ideling fast its probably temperature senser. There is no adjustment for idle. that last answer is not entirely true. u can adjust the idle. but it depends on if its a throttle body unit that looks like a carburetor or a smaller unit. on a TBI unit, there is a screw u can adjust but the only way to adjust it is with the right tool. its not a Philips screw or straight blade. but if its idling high or fast it might be the idle air control valve. the one went out on my 1985 sunbird and caused it to idle funny.
No It may cause engine idle and hesitation problems but not smoking. If you are not experiencing oil consumption problems check the head gasket. Lastly a turbo unit that is Twenty-Three years old may also be due for replacement/rebuild. J
The idle air control valve; may not be operating properly. It is operated from the computer, by electric impulses; it works to control the amount of air needed for idle engine speed; its a cone shaped, tip on a shaft that ,moves in and out of a hole to control idle speed, by adjusting the amount of air to the engine: when shifting ,it take a little more power than, just plain idle; so you may have to clean the passage or the unit or change the idle control valve. it on the throttle body. 2 small screws hold it in place.(allen).
