∙ 16y agoProzac (aka - fluoxetine) is an anti-depressant medication though it has at times been prescribed for anxiety, mood elevation and eating disorders. The dose prescribed will depend on how the specific patient responds clinically. One of its side-effects is slow weight gain, though if the medication is well supervised, this entity can be unusual.

∙ 12y agoI hate to say it, but, yes, it will make you gain weight. I have been on fluoxetine for over 2 years and i put on weight , about 15 pounds. Now I'm trying to get off the drug, so i can go back to my old weight. One more thing, I'm working out 6 times per week, and not even all that working out stoped me from getting weight.

∙ 8y agoIve lost a good 20 pounds since I started taking Prozac 3 months ago, so in my experience yes i think it did cause me to lose weight.
