There have been many different studies on why humans blush. One common belief is that it is an effect of thermoregulation. When you excersise your body gets hot then starts to sweat in an effort to cool down. When the sweat evaporates it makes your skin cool to the touch. In an effort to warm up that area of the skin the capillaries in your face push towards the skin. Oxygenated blood flows through the capillaries which is why the face turns a rosy red instead of the blueish (I know blood is not blue but it looks that way through our skin) color of the blood that flows through your veins. There are several other reasons your brain triggers such a response like specific emotions. Thermoregulation may not be your cause. I've seen several very fit and lean people turn bright red in the gym. I just don't see scientific evidence that losing weight or becoming fit will help with the redness but every person is different. Good luck.
