My answer really won't help. Sometimes it can harm the vehicle sometimes not. If perhaps the calalytic ccnverter is plugged, yes it can damage the engine. Usually if the car performs as normal,

no real damage will occur.

A flashing check engine light means that you have a problem with your engine that may cause harm to the catalytic converter.

What harm or danger could occur by driving while service engine light is on steady?

You can drive the car but should have the vehicle checked soon as possible. BUT if the service engine soon light is flashing, stop the vehicle when it is safe to do so then shut off the engine immediately. If you continue to drive the vehicle with the service engine soon light flashing you will do catastrophic damage to the catalytic converter(s).

There are hundereds of items that can turn the check engine light on. If it is setting the "gas cap" codes it has a vapor leak between the fuel tank and the engine.

What does the check engine light mean on a 2002 Kia Sportage?

The check engine light comes on and stays on when a problem is detected by the self diagnosis system of your vehicle. Generally, the problem is in the emissions or something that is affecting the effectiveness of the emissions, but other causes can trigger the light to come on, too. To determine the cause, the vehicle will need to be taken to AutoZone or a shop that has an OBD2 scanner, or for 1995 and earlier models, an OBD1 scanner, While a scanner will not give you the magic answer, it will give you a code that narrows down the problem area. A flashing check engine light is an indication of a severe misfire or problem that is likely to harm your engine. Immediate diagnosis and service is needed.

Does Engine check P1457 Honda accord cause damage to car?

No, it will not harm the engine. P1457 will not harm the engine nor will it make the engine run bad. It just means the EVAP canister & the related system of hoses & valves is not airtight as it should be. You have a leak somewhere.

How do you check the transmission fluid level on a 2003 ford explorer?

Transmission fluid can only be checked with the engine and transmission at normal operating temperature. You will need to drive about 5 miles to achieve this. If you check it with the engine cold you will get a false reading and could do more harm than good if you added fluid. Leave the engine running and then check the dipstick level. If it needs fluid, at a little bit at a time then check the level again. Overfilling will cause irreparable damage to the transmission.

If the exhuast is gone and you drive it will it harm the engine?

No it won't hurt the engine BUT you could get carbon monoxide in the car. Don't sit in a parked car with the engine running if your exhaust is bad - it could kill you.
