Will maintaining a 2.0 GPA help college students in the real world.?

Well, yes and no. If you think of the real world in terms of: grocery shopping, renting an apartment, talking with neighbors/friends, ect. then no...a 2.0 GPA doesn't mean anything. In all honesty, even a 4.0 GPA wouldn't mean much in those situations.
but the second you start to look for a job (in work that requires a degree) or if you choose to pursue higher education, that GPA means a lot. Whether fairly or not, future employers may judge you (partly) based on your academics and if they look at your transcript only to see a 2.0 they may set you aside in favor of another applicant.
