If not used properly yes. Perm is a caustic chemical that curls the hair and relaxers straightens the hair. There is a certain amount of time each should be left on, then should be immediately rinsed and shampooed out. Normally with a perm you shampoo and rinse the hair first and with a relaxer you apply it to dry hair and new growth only, then shampoo with a neutralizer and rinse. You also may need to repeat the shampoo process more than once to make sure everything is removed and for your hair to take the new straight or curly shape, this process is called rebonding.
If applied properly your hair should be in optimum condition.
curl perms? i have never heard of that. but what i know is that if u get growth and then cut all the straight permed hair ur natural unpermed hair wont be damaged. and once ur hair is long enough ur could tong ur hair to make it straight. once in a while tonging ur hair is good but not everyday. All kinds of perms cause damage because the hair is treated with chemicals which can make hair more porous and thus can be easily breakable. So yes curling perms will cause damage.
perms can stay in from 3-6 weeks
Perms are definitely bad for your hair. Whether they're bad for the rest of you depends on how long it takes to process, but I can't imagine having ammonia on top of your head for an hour or so is real good for you.
Whether you get the perm or the color first, you have to wait 7 days between perms and color.
it depends on how thick your hair is
They will not damage your hair if they are installed properly and as long as you take care of them.
The recommended time between chemical processes on hair, whether it's coloring, relaxers, perms, etc. is seven days.
yes you can, unless it is a perm...with perms it would just wash out or spot your dye job...as long as there is no chemicals your good to go
By letting it grow.

Yes, permanent wave solutions such as alkaline perms are still manufactured and used in salons today. These types of perms create long-lasting curls or waves in the hair by breaking and reforming the hair bonds. It's important to consult with a professional stylist for the best results and care.
