What are the defferences between dessel and petrol engine?

Petrol & Gas engines are spark ignited engines where as diesel engines are compression ignited engines. Petrol engines works with explosion of fuel air mixture due to spark from spark plug inside the cylinder. Diesel engines works with combustion of fuel air mixture due to compression, compressed mixture attains a very high temperature which exceeds the flash point of diesel and starts burning inside the cylinder and the hot gases after burning of fuel misture exerts force on piston which makes the diesel engines work. Diesel engines are highly efficient than petrol engines.

How does a bulldozer work?

A bulldozer is powered by a massive diesel engine that propels it forward. The engine also powers the hydraulics that move the blade into the position needed to move earth and rubble.

How does a Bollinger engine work?

The engine is a 2 stroke 'semi' diesel. Inlet and exhaust are as per 'normal' two stroke diesel but the injected fuel is not ignited by compression alone as in a normal diesel. Instead a 'hot bulb' on the cylinder head is heated with a blow-lamp before starting and heat from this, transferred to a tube in the combustion chamber which ignites the fuel to start the engine. Once running the engine itself maintains the temperature. Often called a Hot Bulb Engine.

Can you convert a gas engine into a diesel?

It would definitely not be possible to convert a gas engine into a diesel engine because the cylinder block and head would not be strong enough. A diesel engine needs a much higher compression ratio than a gas engine, which means the gas engine's cylinder block and cylinder head would probably explode under the higher pressure. You would have to change so many things: * the crankshaft, to get a longer piston stroke, because the compression ratio for gas is much lower than for diesel; * the connecting rods and pistons * the cylinder head and camshaft to get the right valves and holes for diesel fuel injectors instead of spark plugs * the fuel injectors and fuel pump - and maybe the tank too, to get the right vents and filler cap for diesel instead of gas * the exhaust system to get the right catalytic converter for diesel * the gears in the gearbox to get the right gear ratios to suit a diesel engine * diesel does not use any spark plugs so you would have be sure to use a safe method to disable the high voltage ignition system (which supplies sparks for gas ignition) and replace it by the right kind of electronic engine management unit to control the diesel fuel injectors * etc. In short, it would not make sense to try to do it from a cost point of view. You could perhaps buy a reconditioned diesel engine made to go in the same model of car, but, unless you could fit it yourself along with all the other bits and pieces, it would be far cheaper just to buy a secondhand diesel model of your vehicle and sell your present gas model.

How does a nitro engine work?

The operation of a nitro engine is similar to a normal gas/diesel engine, where a fuel mixture is ignited, and the energy drives cylinders back and forth in a cycle, all the while keeping an element hot so that the fuel stays ignited. The only difference is that a nitro mixture is more complicated, so a hole has to be bored into the engine so the mixture can keep flowing in a certain way.

How long will diesel car run on petrol?

It won't, even a mixture of gasoline and diesel will not work. May I add that running petrol in a diesel will destroy that diesel engine.
