No. My PCP prescrib imtrex for me and I always forgot to tell my pain Managment doctor and they do a very detailed drug test. I later asked about it and because it's a very unlikely drug to be abused it's not tested for.
Yes, though strangely enough it seems to show up as "tricyclic antidepressants". Drug tests only show classes of drugs, generally, not specific drugs themselves - unless the tests are very expensive molecular analyses. I am screened periodically to meet my doctor's paranoia that DEA will have a problem with my pain management program of 26 years. The only time "tricyclic antidepressants" show up on a screen is when I have had to take Imitrex (sumatriptan - I use the generic now) for migraine shortly before the test. How long is shortly? A couple of weeks, anyway. I don't take tricyclic antidepressants, so there's no reason they would be there, other than the sumatriptan, that we can discover. NO drug test is perfect...
Sumitripitan (Imitrex) will not be detected by a standard pre-employment type drug screen.
I have a patient today who is on sumatriptan and it showed up as a tricyclic antidepressant.

The cough syrups that could cause a drug test to fail require a prescription to purchase.
