I heard the government would be sendind the checks before Christmas to boost the economy one more time. We all heard about it in the news...Hopefully right about now they are printing the checks!!

Unfortunately, nobody truly knows yet (sorry!).
I've written a post explaining the latest developments, which I will update frequently, and suspected uses of the second stimulus package proposed by Obama:

Supposedly there may be "an emergency rebate check" but it's unclear as of yet.

No such thing
are we getting a second stimulus check before christmas
Are we getting another stimulus check
never
A combo of a political, tax, economic and social question....your guess is as good as anyones. None is planned.Considering this rebate seems to have worked very poorly, was problem ridden and hard to administer...and may have actually generated a good deal of ill-will toward the politicians....it would seem unlikely. It is not even discussed as a prtion of any of the next recvery plans...making it even more unlikely. [Update] There may not be more stimulus checks, but there will be more tax credits. In Obama's 2010 budget (which looks forward to the next ten years) there are plans to extend to 2013, the "Making Work Pay" $400/$800 tax cut for workers, originally enacted as part of the economic stimulus plan. It also seeks to make permanent the expansion of the child tax credit and the newly enlarged college credit now called the American Opportunity Tax Credit ------------------------------------------------------ A bit more details found here: (Link moved to proper location).

Yes, you can still apply for the stimulus check if you meet the eligibility criteria set by the government.
Are we getting another stimulus check
To receive a stimulus check, you need to meet the eligibility criteria set by the government and ensure your information is up to date with the IRS. You can check the IRS website for specific instructions on how to claim your stimulus payment.

The eligibility for receiving a stimulus check depends on various factors such as your income, tax filing status, and other criteria set by the government. It is recommended to check the official guidelines or contact the relevant authorities to determine if you qualify for the stimulus check.
