Will the sav file of Pokemon SoulSilver JP work for the English ROM when it comes out?

There's no way to tell until the games released and the ROMS are dumped.
Its pretty unlikely though

Well, i have a .sav file for my Japanese Soul Silver ROM on my ds, using the r4 card.
i tried using it on an English version with the Japanese .sav, and it didn't work... this may be different on a computer emulator, or maybe something else. oh, an interesting detail: i renamed the .sav file to match the ROM name, and the game loaded, showed my Japanese profile on it, but would not load. maybe there is some kind of patch to change this...

When the US version of Pokemon soul/heart comes out you simply rename the sav file (REMEMBER! don't rename the . sav bit or it wont work) to the name of the new US ROM and it will work

yeah, ok, like i didn't try that. what, do you think I'm stupid? i specifically stated that i DID try exactly that. so don't be such a presumptuous little turd and make me look like an idiot. i know why this happened, it's because of the step counter hack prevention feature on all US roms. there's now a patch that you have to download and insert into the ROM. Where do you get mystery gift?
The mystery gift option is already available in Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver. Before starting your save file, there is a menu option that says 'Mystery Gift'. It is already built into the game.
