Electronic turn signals on high spec cars will always cancel, either by noting the turn and return the steering wheel or by timing out. High end motorcycles will do a similar thing, either noting the tilt of the vehicle or timing out. At the lower end of the market the turn signal is cancelled by the steering wheel operating a mechanical device. If the steering wheel is not turned far enough the device will not engage and returning the wheel to the ahead position will not cancel the turn signal. there should be a tab in the turn signal switch that clicks the switch after you turn the wheel so far. Those have been know to wear out after time. A new switch will fix you right up.
