Actually, the stress of getting a new tattoo could cause someone with epilepsy to have a seizure. You should always ask your doctor before getting a tattoo if you have any major medical problems. Even having a cold could have an impact on your tattoo.

∙ 14y agoPeople with epilepsy can get tattoos. Take general care beforehand in terms of making sure you are well, have taken any medication you are on and so on. You could let the tattooist that you have epilepsy, in the unlikely event that you could have a seizure. As for being a tattooist, people with epilepsy can do many kinds of jobs and being a tattooist is one you could do, as long as you approach it with a bit of care.

∙ 11y agoThere is no particular reason why it should. People get seizures for a variety of reasons. Different people have different things that cause them. Unless they had some particular reaction to pain or it caused them severe stress and that was one of their triggers, then it would not cause a seizure. Anyone deciding to have tattoos would be aware of their own epilepsy and their triggers and shouldn't have any problem with it.
