Although monkeys seem like they would be fun as pets, they are really better in the jungle were they are meant to be, also, they would ruin your house. Also, when monkeys are older even if they are your friend, they may attack you.

I presume you mean a monkey as a pet for a human to possess rather than your category? Well when I was at college in London one of my fellow students did have a chimpanzee as his pet. He used to bring it into college on the London tube train to Earls Court on his shoulder, which caused looks of amazement from fellow commuters. The lecturers tolerated it at college and it was quite fun and probably a nicer pet than a dog or cat would;d be except it did have this extremely annoying habit of suddenly pissing without warning, a habit not really appreciated by either its owner or people in its immediate vicinity as and when it performed. But who are we humans to complain. We all have our bad habits too that annoy others.

It depends on A LOT of things. First, u need to be able to have a lifetime commitment with this animal. They usually live to about 40 years if kept healthy. Secondly, they are like child's that never grow up, if u have children then i don't recommend a monkey. Thirdly, research a lot of info on monkeys and experiences of other oeople and then ask urself if u think u could handle one. They cost a lot for toys, food, cages, and more.
