No an overheating engine will be due to leaking coolant, a faulty radiator, a faulty water pump, lack of oil or oil that needs to be changed
antifreeze is intended only for an engine, not for a transmission. there is coolant FOR a transmission, i would say that there would not be sufficient cooling for the transmission. it would probably overheat.
yes,it would be the same as low oil in your engine. it will most likely overheat and warp parts, costing you alot of $
It depends, is the Transmission over heating or is it the engine itself? you may need to have the transmission serviced, band adjustment and fluid change but either way in drive the engine is still trying to spin the transmission but something is not allowing the clutch to spin. i would just take it to a tranny shop.
no it would overheat
Your motor oil going bad would cause that. That is in the crankcase, not the transmission.
Pinched or blocked transmission cooling lines
To keep the transmission fluid cool. Without one it would overheat.
because of transmission failure
Automatic transmission fluid would likely cause a standard transmission to overheat and wear the gears at a high rate.
It will not cause the engine to overheat. You have another problem.
Yes, it controls the coolant flow around the engine block, without coolant the engine would overheat.
You are not giving enough information to get a reasonable answer. It's like asking why it won't start. Any, and I mean any, detail would help. Are we talking about the engine cooling system? What are the symptoms that bring you to the conclusion it is overheating? Have you checked the coolant level? What year and size engine? Does it overheat only when stressing the engine, like climbing hills? Does it overheat only in traffic and okay on the highway? Does it overheat when the car is idling? Has the head gasket ever been replaced?
