The best solution I have found is Terro ant bait. It takes a while to kill them (usually quicker than the package says) but that's because the ants take it back to the nest and feed some to the colony. Therefore, you wipe out more ants than the quick kill stuff. The only downside is that you have to live with ants for a few days. Hope this helps!
