there could be several things wrong here...
1. check to see if there is anything like GUNK or dirt in the long, slim hole on the bottom of your iPod.
If there is... get a paperclip, or JUST BLOW REALLY HARD into there. get that junk out of there!!
2. Do the same for your USB cable on BOTH SIDES.
3. If none of these work, buy a new cable.plug the USB cable into a computer then it will charge it takes about 45 mins to charge
try to plug it harder in the usb port or plug in the ipod in the cable
