Recording students are able to work in state-of-the-art studios with advanced equipment, while graphic, game, and web design students get to flesh out their work using the newest technology. Full Sail has even partnered with Apple to offer students free laptops.

With a staff of over 1200, the 8000 students enrolled have industry professionals working closely to help prepare them for careers in their desired fields. The programs are immersive and bachelor’s degrees can be obtained in 21-32 months, while master’s degrees require 12-13. Tuition ranges from $35,000 to $75,000 depending on the program and many students take out loans to help cover their costs and expenses. There are also no housing facilities and students either commute or rent nearby apartments.

Full Sail has become a popular choice for media enthusiasts because they can learn their craft in a relatively short amount of time from industry professionals. The curriculum encourages a hands-on directive that gives students the opportunity to learn by doing. All students get to create a final project which they can take out into the career field as a sample to their portfolios or reels.

Full Sail University is an academic institution headquartered in Winter Park, Florida. Winter Park is a suburb of Orlando.

The school was originally founded as the Full Sail Recording Workshop in 1970. The original campus was in fact located in Dayton, Ohio. In 1980, the school made the move to Florida. The new facilities in the Orlando suburb allowed the school to expand exponentially. The physical campus now stretches an entire 191 acres.

Due to Orlando being an entertainment Mecca, the school was able to add very successful degree programs in film production. Within the schools facilities, there are over 110 production studios including things like sound stages, editing facilities, and back lots used to shoot films.

Today the school is a decent sized university with an enrollment of over 8,800 students. The school also has a very large staff of over 1,200 employees.

The school has also been at the forefront of a number of innovations in regards to how institutions that offer education for profit do business. One such example is how students pay for tuition at the school. At most universities, the cost of learning materials like text books are separate from the price of tuition. At Full Sail University, however, the cost of all textbooks, supplemental materials, and art supplies are included in the price of tuition. The price of tuition at the school usually ranges between $35,000 and $75,000 for an entire degree program.

The school also offers personal laptops to all its students for a little over $3,000. Laptops assigned to students enrolled in videogame development programs also include all the software needed for classes preinstalled in the computers.

The school also implements a very high tech online university program through its website. Its online programs implement a custom built education management system that is only available at Full Sail University and was developed by software developers at the school in conjunction with instructors. Programs offered by the online version of the school mirror the classes taught at the physical campus in Florida. This online school allows students to choose from 17 different programs. Six of these programs grant master’s degrees, nine grant bachelor’s degrees, and the remaining two reward non-degree certificates.
